Packer Tailgate

A complete history of this issue is available on the next page.  The most recent developments are these:

  • The issue came up again at the May 26 Village Board meeting when former Village Trustee Gordon Kensgaard addressed the Board.  You can read the Thistle report of his remarks here.  You can also read, in its entirety, the letter to which he refers.
  • The Village Board discussed the issue at its May 11, 2009 meeting.  Click here to read the Thistle account of the meeting.
  • Given the continuing absence of any reliable accounting, The McFarland Village Board has filed a complaint with the State of Wisconsin.
  • On Aug. 25, 2008, Keith Green and Gordon Kensgaard read into the public record unsubstantiated allegations of  “...selective targeting, harassment, and propagation of falsehoods against the Friends of McFarland Playgrounds, its Director and/or members”.
  • They submitted these unsubstantiated allegations to Attorney General J. B. Van Hollen.
  • On Sep. 2, 2008, McFarland Ethics Board Chair Bonnie Wendorff requested “...as much detailed factual information as possible about the specific incidents upon which you have relied in alleging such violations.”
  • On Sep. 26, Assistant Attorney General Paul L. Barrett responded as follows: “...you request the Attorney General’s assistance...”  We must respectfully decline your request.”
  • At the end of October, Kensgaard filed four new sets of allegations that were read into the public record.
  • In the interest of full disclosure, I am one of the many targets of these allegations. I am also a citizen member of the Ethics Board.  In the event that Green and Kensgaard do complete the Ethics Complaint Form by submitting factual information, I will recuse myself from any participation in the ensuing investigation.

You can read the Aug. 25 complaints here and the Oct. 28 complaints along with other correspondence here.
